June is a MASSIVE month for us…

June 13th will be Basil’s 121st birthday!

And THE BAZ will be one year old on June 30th!

Of course there will be a HUGE party.

And cake…

What else should we do? Any thoughts on a great way to celebrate?

        Wish they’d show the 5 minute bio on him again.TCM showed it after a Viv Leigh movie last year,and I missed it.

    I’ll look into it Ellen.If he was American WW2 Really good chance I could find at least SOME kind of service record for him.I found what I think is Weedys neices dads record. only a breif mention. But unsure what I can come up with in England..Found John’s tombstone pic.And alot of his service record stuff.But I think it’s cause he died in WW1,something about a war dead project.I’ll see what I can comeup with.

      You’re wonderful!I agree,maybe if things had turned out w/both brothers returning home,there’s no telling if they were to be like Geo Sanders/Tom Conway,the Barrymores,or others.Surprised with so much info and how it’s at people’s perusal w/internet.

        Does anyone know if the Dr Richard Rodion Rathbone listed as a Pathologist at Yale-New Haven is Baz’s grandson?Just curious.He’s apparently a 30+ years in medicine.

          Yes he is Basil’s grandson. Brother of Dounia and Heloise Rathbone. Michael Druxman has interviewed them all I believe. 🙂

            Smart family,Douinia with her business,RRR an MD,I would imagine Heloise must be married/housewife.Sad they had little interaction w/Baz,I know it’s not my business,but when I think of some manipulation by ma/granny at times of pa/grampa,can see it didn’t seem like anything compared to what Baz endured.Love the tale of how he called her bluff on one fake heart prob.

      Rodion Rathbone flew for TWA?Does that mean he was an RAF pilot in WWII?Thought I’d read at one point that after he finished on Tower Of London,he returned to England for active service.Could see him as young enough to be a pilot.Reggie Gardner was an instructor,Ibelieve.
