      Interesting how he mused what could’ve been if both weren’t so happily married.That made me wonder if he really was.I agree with his quote in Mrs Cheyney,he could make one woman miserable marrying,but so many happy single.Think he did lack confidence in his looks.

    I love the scene in the bedroom. You gotta love pre-code. They are basically talking about her buying her freedom by having sex with him. Personally I’d consider that a done deal 🙂

      The Court Jester on June 2,Sunday night Essentials Jr,8 pm.I’ve already made a date.Even if he was doubled for some of the fencing he still looks fab,given he’s about 63.And what a champion.Prob OR still kissed the same as that anniversary party.At least it wasn’t from a wedding photo,or like Michael Jackson kissing Lisa Marie and her wiping her mouth.And they sid it wouldn’t last.It sure didn’t,MJ & LMP (Lisa Marie).Got a kick out of someone saying something aboutkissing a skunk.In the LaLa Land of Illusions,pics speak a thousand words.

    How lovely! And thy really work together to give an impression of the movie. I have a downloaded version of Mrs Cheyney. It’s one of my favourites. He is so devilish and bad-boy charming in it. I get the impression he was probably not unlike that in real life before Ouida got her hands on him

    Damn he is sexy in that film. I caught it on TCM or somewhere last year and was a bit bowled over. Only seen him as Gisborne and Sherlock Holmes before. Never seen him in love scenes and playing a lothario.

      Can’t wait for the showing on TCM later this month!Nice article on Baz on basilrathbone.net,gives insight on his career and personal life,esp on OR’s manipulations.She was obviously no judge of best career moves for herself,never mind her hubby.Interesting comments on her behavior on attending The Czarina.

        Watched that bottom right on TCM when on today,he reminded me of story from memoir of Cyn hitting boy for bothering her in class,and pictured him doing same in his day,but not at boy’s school.Could see the mischief in his eyes,as heavily made upas they were in Mrs Cheyney.Never watched remake w/o Baz

        There is a girl who is a big fan of Baz who photoshopped her head on to the body of an actress in a clinch with him, I forget which one. Great idea. I’d do it if I had the skills 😳
